An urbanism, architechture, leaves!, sedumn joys, and chara's apt. All with the excellent sharpie pen. I like that it can keep up with a fast stroke. Alack, some of my strokes are too fast.
The Urbanism - Ah, the essence of "Keeping at It." Draw, draw, draw. David Millard again, "You can find interesting subject matter to draw everywhere." I like how the triangle of lamps bounce the eye around--ping pong ball-ish.
Architecture - Confident. This seems to be direct--ink, not ink over pencil outlines. One of the things about drawing in ink is that it is great practice for "living with your line," and going on. A hard lesson for me. But that's when the "bold and fresh" look comes.
Good handling of roof perspective. I find most perspectives come out reasonably right if you just draw what's there. That can be scary, as here, when the side roof angle is almost the same as the front. Scary but right. Sometimes, despite all, I have to put in a vanishing point, usually off the page.
Sedum Joys - Nice "Black Patterns," a fore-pic of the up coming challenge.
Chara's Apt - It just doesn't look right to me. Is the perspective wrong? The viewpoint? The pole? And so I was telling Mom, see, there's the kitchen and there, that other window, is where Luke's sofa is, and . . ."
Oh, Chara's apt.! Now it all right with the world. And good ink boldness and proportions.

Leaves - Ink and pencil--I have never seen that combo! It works. Nice subjects - unflat leaves. I pressed mine in a book for a day before I did them.
ReplyDeleteI like how you toned down the table to make the large leaf stand out. "Preserving your whites"--uh, more likely, yellows.
