The shed and the turtle were done on tour - in Nebraska. Otherwise, some pexmiramentation with pencil and watercolor shading. Thanks for the watercolors, Dad!
I congratulate you on your boldness and willingness to just jump in with ink--no erasures, no pentimenti, no retro-anythingizing. A permanent commitment to paper. Scary, but good feeling, I find.
I like your Sky-Spider with Birds. Proves there is interesting stuff everywhere, when we look. And isn't that part of what we are trying to do--share the good we have found.
And, ah--ink and pencil. A workable combo, it seems to me. I think the ink line give that top step a bold contrast without making one of the tones too dark. Winslow Homer did everything to his watercolors but chew them--aquarelle paint, pencil, ink, guache, fingernail, knife. He didn't care about rules. There weren't any. He was inventing watercolor as we know it. He didn't know about that either. He just wanted a good picture--whatever it took.
And, ah--The Yellow Hat. Yellow! A new dimension. Wonderful leap. I love it. Imagine God's delight when he first thought of it.
