PERSPECTIVE PRAX -2
T
his one had some of the lower right-left lines actually leveling a bit toward horizontal. Or should have--the shelf lines should be slightly less angled than the top of the bookcase, which is slightly less angled than the ceiling.
you comment that that picture leaning was leaning on the wall... I'm hearing you say, "I didn't draw that the way i wanted to, or the rather, the way it really was." If that is not what you meant- my apologies. But that was one of my struggles with this. It was hard to keep the mind from drawing according to the rule i had been taught-what it should look like- instead of what it really looked like. I am sure we could all draw a great picture in perpespective, but to draw the perspective that is really in front of us...you are right, is a lot more difficult. (i don't know if this comment makes sense of not???)
ReplyDeleteit does. did i cheat? i'm serious. i don't know myself. to what extent do i picture the scene in my head and then draw it from that?

oh and this is a great picture. my favorite part is the deer carving - i've seen it before and to capture it's essence and action in a few lines is quite an achievement. doing all the vertical book lines "just so" would drive me mad!
