sketcheres1

A couple from Father's Day in here - that was fun. Who knew you had to do multiple sketches in a row to warm up?

  1. Ah, the joys of a scanner! How good to have you have one!

Yours seems set at a greater contrast than mine. My own drawing book paper is slightly beige, so I try to maintain that. But I do think you are using whiter paper--that Bristol Board or whatever it is. Is that right?

  2. The top one is very much Sumi-e to my eye. Subtly and boldly defined all at once. Might they be peonies?

The leafy branch--a thing to make Linaeus proud. Wonderful definition and tones. Frame it.

Beer bottle and cap. My favorite of this series. But then I saw it aborning. I like the light on the inner edge of the cap.

Arched Doorway--nice feel for architectural detail. Love the shadows--best seen at a distance or through a squint. Do you squint to determine tones before you draw?

    Grass & Bark and Tones--neat
